What brings 25 York Sailing Club members – ranging in age from under 1 to over 70 years – together for a weekend of camping and sailing? Answer: our annual visit to Ullswater in the Lake District, a YSC tradition that dates back well over 40 years. This year we enjoyed some very fine camping and sailing weather in mid-June, and almost everybody had a go at sailing, paddle-boarding or kayaking, or all three. A wide variety of craft provided opportunities for all, and the range of cooking styles on display at the Saturday night barbecue was … well, let’s just say it was interesting.
