Sailing on the River Ouse as it used to be – a selection of photos from the early 1970s. Much the same as it is today, except … The bridge still carried the East Coast main line … there were fewer trees and therefore clearer winds … there was a bigger GP14 fleet. But at least one of the boats shown here is still actively sailing at York Sailing Club today, with the same helm and crew as 50 years ago. Sailing really is a sport for life!
