York Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) affiliated club with three RYA certified instructors, two of whom hold Senior Instructor qualifications. The Club runs a limited programme of training sessions throughout the sailing season to meet the needs of its members, catering for both the complete novice and those wishing to refresh or simply improve their skills.
These training sessions are offered free of charge to members and provide excellent preparation for the more formal RYA Level 1 and Level 2 courses available from commercial centres in our area for those seeking certification.
If there is sufficient demand, we also organise club racing events specifically for beginners and novices among the membership, and follow-up refresher sessions.
